Windland Center

The Hermitage Formation is part of the Nashville Group and is dated to the late Ordovician Period.

Variable rock units consisting thin-bedded dark, blue-gray shaley limeston and sandy limestone in northwest part of Central Basin, Persistant layer of shale and phosphatic shale in central part of Central Basin. Silty shale and nodular limestone in south part of Central Basin. Weathers to a silty and sandy clay up to 20 feet thisk. Outcrops extensively in Central Basin
